‘Job Search Secrets’

SECRET #1 – The “special place” to send your cover letter and resume.
This ’special place’ is actually the office of the specific person who schedules interviews!
That’s right, whenever possible send your application to an actual living and breathing, decision-making person. Address your cover letter to this specific individual by name. Do whatever it takes to get that name.
Important: If this is a job posting online and you simply can’t find the proper person’s name, ADDRESS THAT ISSUE, early in your cover letter.
Example: “I am really interested in this position and wanted you to know that I did try to find the person’s name to address my letter. I am quite confident your name is not “To whom it may concern.” J (A dash of humor can go a long way to show you’re personal side).
Most job seekers address their cover letters like this: To whom it may concern: Dear Sirs: Dear hiring manager: Dear Madam: Cue the ’snoozzzzze button.’ J What do these job hunters have in common? Blindfolds! If they hit the desired target, it’s a lucky shot. First, you must find out where the bulls eye is, then you take aim and fire away.
Decide WHAT you’re searching for and exactly WHO you’re sending your cover letter and resume to whenever possible. This focused approach will yield the fastest results.
COVER LETTER TIP: Keep your cover letter personal, friendly, enthusiastic and brief (one page max). I repeat, personal, friendly, enthusiastic and brief! And don’t be afraid to actually ASK for the interview towards the end of your cover letter. (Source – Amazing Cover Letters)
One thing I learned is that it’s more important to focus on the quality of your followers over the quantity.
You can easily get a bunch of followers by following people at random, but if none of them visit your site it really won’t mean much.
A couple of things you should do, is look for Twitter accounts that discuss mobile phones, find their followers, and start following them. If somebody is following a Twitter account that discusses mobile phones, chances are that they will have an interest in your account. Additionally, Tweet OFTEN. The more you Tweet, the more exposure your account will get. Check out search.twitter.com. Every time you post a tweet, it will show up hear if somebody searches for a phrase that was within your tweet.
